Emphasis:
To teach players how to find and exploit space
Set-up:
Place two goals 36 yards apart from each other, (two penalty boxes on top of each other).
Split your team into 2 teams and send a team to the posts on both sides of the goalkeepers.
Make sure both team have plenty of balls.
Objective:
The 6 attackers must attempt to keep possession of the ball. Points are awarded each time a player can receive a pass in enough space to juggle the ball three times. Players are encouraged to utilize as much of the playing area as possible to allow for more time on the ball. Rotate the defenders frequently to avoid fatigue and maintain a high tempo.
Progression:
(1) Two-touch restriction for all players.
(2) Reduce the size of the playing area.
Coaching Points:
- Passing must be sharp and accurate – keep the ball moving.
- Players must offer good angles and distance of support to receive passes.
