1 V 1 Switching Goals

Emphasis:
Angles, fitness, recovery

Set-up:
Two goalkeepers stand 18-20 yards apart, each of them defending a goal.
Have extra balls ready in each goal.

Objective:
Goalkeeper A shoots on target to goalkeeper B.  Goalkeeper B must make the save immediately and set the ball on the ground.  Each goalkeeper must then sprint to the other goal.  Allow them to recover briefly and repeat the exercise.  After five repetitions consisting of (shoot and sprint) the goalkeepers switch roles.

Progressions:

  1. Hit a moving ball.
  2. Incorporate the breakaway.

Coaching Points:

  • Serves must be on target and accurate.
  • Take a small concentration break between each shot.
